The Cairn of Barnenez is a Neolithic monument located near Plouezoc'h, on the Kernéléhen peninsula in northern Finistère, Brittany (France). It dates to the early Neolithic, about 4800 BC; it is considered one of the earliest megalithic monuments in Europe, as well as the oldest building in the world, along with the Tumulus of Bougon and Locmariaquer megaliths, also located in Great West France. It is also remarkable for the presence of megalithic art. The chambers are linked by narrow passageways. There are also engraved symbols within chambers of barnenez, depict different animals. Barnenez passage grave in Brittany of France is the oldest known man made building in the world, dates back to 4850 B.C.  Barnenez is also the exceptional example of oldest form of architecture remains intact. It stretches over 72 meters and contains eleven burial chambers. It was rediscovered in 1955.

The Tumulus of Bougon or Necropolis of Bougon is a group of five Neolithic barrows located in Bougon near La-Mothe-Saint-Héray, between Exoudon and Pamproux in Poitou-Charentes, France. Their discovery in 1840 raised great scientific interest. To protect the monuments, the site was acquired by the department of Deux-Sèvres in 1873. Excavations resumed in the late 1960s. The oldest structures of this prehistoric monument date to 4800 BC. It is an outstanding example of one of oldest funerary architecture around the world. All five tumulus were made of stone and soil. The barrows within the site varies by their size and also have different inner structure. The enormous stones used for the construction of chambers exceeds 30 tons in weight. The Bougon museum also houses many of artifacts from the Tumulus including jewelries, flint tools and potteries.

The Tumulus of St. Michel is a megalithic grave mound, located east of Carnac in Brittany, France. It is the largest grave mound in continental Europe. The tumulus was built during the fifth millennium BC. The Saint-Michel tumulus consists of a mound of earth and stones 125 meters long, 50 meters wide and 10 meters high. Explored in 1862, researchers found there a central vault containing a fairly prestigious funerary furniture : axes, pearls, flint tools and sillimanite.  It is the subject of a classification as National heritage site since 1889. Scientists discovered many of furniture made of stone from the crypt of the mound. Just like pyramids of Egypt the site also contains many funerary objects. There is also a chapel situated above of the mound. It was built in 1663 and reconstructed in 1926.

Monte d'Accoddi is an archaeological site in northern Sardinia, Italy, located in the territory of Sassari near Porto Torres. It is the site of a Chalcolithic structure of the Ozieri culture, the oldest parts are dated to around c. 4,000-3,650 BC and discovered in 1954, in a field owned by Segni family. The structure has a base of 27 m by 27 m and probably reached a height of 5.5 m. It culminated in a platform of about 12.5 m by 7.2 m, accessible via a ramp. It has been variously described as an altar, a mound, a temple or a step pyramid. As there have never been found any chambers or entrances to the mound, it is presumed to have been either an altar or to have served an observational function, as its square plan is coordinated with the cardinal points of the compass.

The Knap of Howar on the island of Papa Westray in Orkney, Scotland, a Neolithic farmstead may be the oldest preserved stone house in northern Europe. Radiocarbon dating shows that it was occupied from 3700 BC to 2800 BC, earlier than the similar houses in the settlement at Skara Brae on the Orkney Mainland. The walls are stationing up to a height of 1.6 meters and both stone houses have small door facing the sea. These houses are connected by internal passageways. There are also furnitures made of stone that represent the life of Neolithic farmers. The evidence from the midden of the monument revealed that the Neolithic farmers also kept their cattle, pigs and sheeps within the houses. Knap of Howar was restored back in 1930 and in 1970. Many of finely decorated potteries and tombs of Neolithic farmers also restored from near by places by the archaeologists.

Ġgantija (Giants Tower) is a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic on the Mediterranean island of Gozo. The Ġgantija temples are the earliest of the Megalithic Temples of Malta. The Ġgantija temples are older than the pyramids of Egypt. Their makers erected the two Ġgantija temples during the Neolithic (c. 3600–2500 BCE), which makes these temples more than 5500 years old and the world's second oldest manmade religious structures after Göbekli Tepe. Together with other similar structures, these have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Megalithic Temples of Malta.  The temples were possibly the site of a fertility rites; archeologists believe that the numerous figurines and statues found on site are connected with that cult. According to local Gozitan folklore, a giantess who ate nothing but broad beans and honey bore a child from a man of the common people. With the child hanging from her shoulder, built these temples and used them as places of worship.

The West Kennet Long Barrow is a Neolithic tomb or barrow, situated on a prominent chalk ridge, near Silbury Hill, one-and-a-half miles south of Avebury in Wiltshire, England. The construction of the West Kennet Long Barrow commenced about 3600 BC, which is some 400 years before the first stage of Stonehenge, and it was in use until around 2500 BC. The mound has been damaged by indiscriminate digging, but archaeological excavations in 1859 and 1955-56 found at least 46 burials, ranging from babies to elderly persons. The bones were disarticulated with some of the skulls and long bones missing. It has been suggested that the bones were removed periodically for display or transported elsewhere with the blocking facade being removed and replaced each time. Recent re-analysis of the dating evidence suggests that the 46 people all died within 20-30 years of each other, and that the tomb was open for 1,000 years.

Listoghil is the large central monument in the Carrowmore group of prehistoric tombs in County Sligo in Ireland. It is also known as Carrowmore 51 tomb, numbered by George Petrie, The Irish archaeologist and painter in 1837. Listoghil is the main passage tomb in Carrowmore tomb complex in Ireland. It is the only passage tomb in Carrowmore that to have a cairn, a mound of stones. This ancient passage tomb was built over 5500 years ago. Listoghil was excavated in 1990. The cairn and passage of the sit was reconstructed in the same year. Archaeologists also discovered a megalithic rock art from the site, one of rare examples from prehistoric Europe.

Sechin Bajo is a large archaeological site with ruins dating from 3500 BCE to 1300 BCE, making it one of the oldest centers of civilization in the Western Hemisphere. Sechin Bajo is located in the valley of the Sechin River, about 12 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean and about 330 kilometres northwest of Lima, Peru. In 2008, a German and Peruvian archaeological team, headed by Peter Fuchs, announced that a circular plaza, 10–12 meters in diameter and constructed of rocks and rectangular adode bricks had been found at Sechin Bajo. Radiocarbon dating indicated that plaza was constructed in 3500 BCE. The ruins of Sechin Bajo cover an area of about 37 hectares, A nearby 2 meter-tall (2 yards) frieze was dated at 3600 BCE. The plaza and the frieze are the two oldest examples of monumental architecture discovered thus far in the Americas. Sechin Bajo may contend with sites of Norte Chico as the oldest urban settlement of the Americas.

Pentre Ifan is the name of an ancient manor in the civil parish of Nevern, Pembrokeshire, Wales. It contains and gives its name to the largest and best preserved neolithic dolmen in Wales. The Pentre Ifan Dolmen is a collection of 7 principal stones. The largest is the huge capstone, 5 metres long, 2.4 metres wide and 0.9 metres thick. It is estimated to weigh 16 tonnes and rests on the tips of three other stones, some 2.5 metres  off the ground. There are six upright stones, three of which support the capstone. Of the remaining three, two portal stones form an entrance and the third, at an angle, appears to block the doorway. The dolmen dates from approximately 3,500 B.C.and has traditionally been identified as a communal burial. Under this theory the existing stones formed the portal and main chamber of the tomb, which would originally have been covered by a large mound of stones about 30 metres (98 ft) long and 17 m wide.

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world, with the site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 sq meters). It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple toward the end of the 12th century. It was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura, the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Stretching over 500 acres the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia is the largest religious structure in the world. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and icon of Cambodia. The center tower of the temple stands at a height of 65 meters is surrounded by four smaller towers.  The main entrance of the Angkor Wat on West side has rich decorations with sculptures and carvings. There is also a 3.2 meters high statue of Lord Vishnu made of sandstone. The main monument of Akshardham temple consists of 234 carved pillars and nine domes. Today, all of 8 main temples and 8 small shrines in inner zone are reconstructed, but only 2 out of the original 224 pervara temples are renovated. The vimanam is 100 ft (30 m) high and is the tallest in the world. There is a big statue of Nandi (sacred bull), carved out of a single rock measuring about 16 ft long and 13 ft high at the entrance. The entire temple structure is made out of granite, the nearest sources of which are about 60 km to the west of temple. It is the world's 1st complete "granite" temple. The temple is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu.

Annamalaiyar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located at the base of Annamalai hills in the town of Thiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, India. It houses four gateway towers known as gopurams. The tallest is the eastern tower, with 11 stories and a height of 66 metres, making it one of the tallest temple towers in India. The temple has numerous shrines, with those of Annamalaiyar and Unnamulai Amman being the most prominent. The temple complex houses many halls; the most notable is the thousand-pillared hall built during the Vijayanagar period.

Rajagopalaswamy temple is a Vaishnavite shrine located in the town of Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is Rajagopalaswamy, a form of Lord Krishna. The temple is spread over an area of 23 acres (93,000 m2) and is one of the important Vaishnavite shrines in India. The temple is called Dakshina Dwarka (Southern Dwarka) along with Guruvayoor by Hindus. The image of the presiding deity is 156 Feet tall. There is a big tank at the entrance of the shrine where rain water is collected. The temple complex has 16 gopurams (tower gateways), 7 prakarams (outer courtyard), 24 shrines, seven mandapams (halls) and nine sacred theerthams (temple tanks). The utsava (festival deity) is a bronze figure from the Chola period. It shows keshabanda type of coifure and restrained ornamentation, atypical of the Chola bronzes of the 11th century. The temple tank is called Haridra Nadhi, 1,158 feet long and 837 feet broad (23 acers), making it one of the largest temple tanks in India.

The building was opened in 2010 as part of a new development called Downtown Dubai. The foundation is designed to support the total building weight of approximately 450,000 tonnes. A high density, low permeability concrete was used in the foundations of Burj Khalifa. Burj Khalifa is highly compartmentalized. Pressurized, air-conditioned refuge floors are located approximately every 35 floors where people can shelter on their long walk down to safety in case of an emergency or fire. It is designed to be the centerpiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith, then of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, whose firm designed the Willis Tower and One World Trade Center. A statue is a sculpture representing one or more people or animals, normally full length, as opposed to a bust, and at least close to life-size, or larger. A small statue, usually small enough to be picked up, is called a statuette or figurine. The Spring Temple Buddha is a statue depicting Vairocana Buddha located in the Zhaocun township of Lushan County, Henan, China, built from 1997 to 2008. It is located within the Fodushan Scenic Area, close to National Freeway no. 311. At 128 m (420 ft), not including a 20 m (66 ft) lotus pedestal, it is the tallest statue in the world. When the 25 m (82 ft) pedestal/building it is placed upon is taken into account, the monument has a total height of 153 m (502 ft). As of October 2008, the hill on which the statue stands is being reshaped to form two further pedestals, the upper one being 15 m tall. The total height of the monument is now said to be 208 m (682 ft). The project as a whole was estimated to cost around $55 million, $18 million of which being spent on the statue. It was originally estimated to consist of 1,100 pieces of copper cast, with a total weight of 1,000 tonnes. Beneath the statue is a Buddhist monastery.

Ushiku Daibutsu is a statue located in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Completed in 1993, it stands a total of 120 metres (390 ft) tall, including the 10 m (33 ft) base and 10m lotus platform. An elevator takes visitors up 85 m (279 ft) to an observation floor. The statue depicts Amitabha Buddha and is made of bronze. It is also known as Ushiku ARCADIA. It was built to commemorate the birth of Shinran, founder of the Jōdo Shinshū 浄土真宗 or "True Pure Land School" of Buddhism. Its Weight: 4,003 tonnes (8,825,000 lb. There are four different levels within the statue, visitors can reach the top by using the elevator. At first level visitors can hear beautiful music, the 2nd level completely dedicated for scriptural studies, third level filled with 30000 Buddha statues. The Laykyun Sekkya Buddha is the third tallest statue in the world at 116 metres (381 ft). This statue of Gautama Buddha stands on a 13.5-metre (44 ft) throne located in the village of Khatakan Taung, near Monywa, Myanmar. Construction began in 1996 and it was completed on 21 February 2008. It was commissioned by the Chief Abbot Ven. Nãradã. There is also an elevator inside the statue for visitors to getting top for enjoying panoramic view of the city. Visitors can also see 89 meter lying Buddha next to Laykyun Setkyar statue.

The Guanyin of the South Sea of Sanya is a 108-metre (354 ft) statue of the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara , sited on the south coast of China's island province Hainan near the Nanshan Temple of Sanya. The statue has three aspects; one side faces inland and the other two face the South China Sea, to represent blessing and protection by Guanyin of China and the whole world. One aspect depicts Guanyin cradling a sutra in the left hand and gesturing the Vitarka Mudra with the right, the second with her palms crossed, holding a string of prayer beads, and the third holding a lotus. This is currently the fourth tallest statue in the world and the tallest statue of Guanyin in the world.  The statue took six years to build and was enshrined on April 24, 2005, with the participation of 108 eminent monks from various Buddhist groups in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland China, and tens of thousands of pilgrims. The delegation also included monks from the Theravada and Vajrayana traditions.

This gilded bronze monument depicting Avalokitesvara stands 99 m (325 ft) tall, and is located in Weishan, Changsha, Hunan, People's Republic of China. The Ningshan County Government, with the help of local business and religious organizations, invested 260 million yuan to complete its construction in 2009.

The Peter the Great Statue is a 98 meter high monument to Peter the Great, located at the western confluence of the Moskva River and the Vodootvodny Canal in central Moscow. It was designed by the Georgian designer Zurab Tsereteli to commemorate 300 years of the Russian Navy, which Peter the Great established. It was erected in 1997 and is the eighth tallest statue in the world. It weighs around 1,000 tons and contains 600 tons of stainless steel, bronze and copper.

The Great Buddha of Thailand, also known as The Big Buddha, The Big Buddha of Thailand, Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin, and Mahaminh Sakayamunee Visejchaicharn, is the tallest statue in Thailand, and the ninth tallest in the world.  Located in the Wat Muang Monastery in Ang Thong province, this statue stands 92 m (300 ft) high, and is 63 m (210 ft) wide. Construction commenced in 1990, and was completed in 2008. It is painted gold and made of concrete.

The Grand Buddha is located at the south of the Longshan Mountain, near Mashan, town of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China. It is one of the largest Buddha statues in China and also in the world.  At more than 88 metres high, the Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is a bronze Amitabha standing Buddha outdoor, weighing over 700 tons. It was completed in the end of 1996.  In 2008, a "Five-signets" Palace and a Brahma Palace were built south-east of the grand buddha statue.
